Located in the heart of Bastia’s historic center, the A Casa Reale bed & breakfast welcomes you in a warm and refined setting.
The building was erected at the end of the 17th century by the De Battisti family. At the time, it was the only patrician-style residence in Terra Vecchia. Over the centuries, it housed notable tenants such as the Count of Boissieux, the Count of Marbeuf, the Viscount of Barin, and, most notably, Sir Gilbert Elliot, the Viceroy of Corsica. In the 19th century, the residence was transformed into a luxurious hotel, hosting prestigious guests including Gustave Flaubert, Joseph Multedo, the Duke of Orléans, and Prosper Mérimée. When the hotel closed, this magnificent Bastia landmark fell into disrepair.
Now, the A Casa Reale bed & breakfast, located on the 2nd floor of the building at 4 rue Commandant Bonelli, enjoys views over the Quai des Martyrs and Bastia’s market square.
A Casa Reale offers 4 spacious rooms, each around 40m², with unique layouts and decor. Every room features a beautiful bathroom with a bathtub and a connected mirror. Carefully curated by the owner, the decor consists mainly of antique objects collected during years of restoration, creating an authentic ambiance in perfect harmony with contemporary tastes.
